About The Common Thread – Our Gathering Place
The world right now can feel like a pretty scary place. Many of us ache for something quieter. Something safer. A space where genuine connection isn’t clouded by judgment or comparison.
These days, when someone speaks their heart and mind on social media, it feels like it’s almost become a kind of sport, a race to see who can contradict, patronize, or belittle someone’s thoughts and feelings the fastest. Vulnerability gets met with sarcasm. Honesty gets picked apart.
But our stories. however complex, however tender, deserve better. They deserve to be witnessed, honoured, and understood.
It’s why I’ve been so driven to create Recollections Within and The Common Thread.
It’s the heart of Recollections Within: a private forum where we gather to share, listen, and hold space for each other with trust and kindness.
That doesn’t mean the subject matter is light or shallow. On the contrary. It means that as deep and as visceral as we need to get, we will be safe from the relentless judgment disguised as “just having an opinion” that we see all too often on social media.
Why It Matters
Recollections Within was born from a deep need for spaces like this: intentional, protected, and rooted in compassion. The Common Thread reflects this mission by offering a sanctuary where empathy leads, vulnerability is valued, and every unique journey is welcomed without reservation.
Here, we believe that sharing our lived experiences isn’t just about looking back; it’s about weaving something meaningful together. Through these threads of story and reflection, we create a tapestry of collective wisdom, resilience, and belonging.
