This Code exists to protect the safety and integrity of our community. It outlines behaviors that are expected, as well as those that are not permitted. By participating in Recollections Within and The Common Thread (Our Community Forum), you agree to uphold these standards.

We expect everyone in this community to participate in a way that supports safety, respect, and care for others. That includes:

  • Speaking from personal experience
  • Listening with openness, not judgment
  • Choosing kindness and compassion, especially in disagreement
  • Avoiding any form of hate speech, harassment, or intimidation
  • Respecting the identities, pronouns, and boundaries of others
  • Respect for sexual orientation is non-negotiable. Attempts to coerce, shame, or invalidate anyone’s sexual orientation or boundaries are not welcome in this community and may result in removal.
  • Following moderator guidance and decisions

This is not a space for trolling, domination, self-promotion, or pushing agendas. Anyone who consistently disregards the values or well-being of the group may be asked to leave.

1. Respect everyone

  • Be thoughtful and kind in your words and actions
  • Allow room for diverse perspectives
  • Avoid sarcasm, personal attacks, and dismissive language

2. Keep this a safe space

  • Do not post hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory content
  • Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated
  • If someone asks you to stop, stop immediately

3. Protect privacy

  • Do not share anyone’s personal information without consent
  • Do not take screenshots or share others’ content outside of the community
  • Use discretion when quoting or referencing shared stories

4. No spam or self-promotion

  • Do not post unsolicited links, sales, or promotions
  • If you have a project or resource to share, please use the appropriate forum and ask for permission if unsure
  • In time, we may offer a designated space where self-promotion is permitted

5. Report concerns

  • If you experience or witness something that feels unsafe, uncomfortable, or harmful, please contact [email protected]. Reports will be reviewed carefully, and we will follow up with discretion and compassion.

6. Consequences

Violations of this Code may result in:

  • A private reminder or warning
  • Removal of specific posts or comments
  • Temporary or permanent suspension from The Common Thread and from Recollections Within as a whole

These actions are taken at our discretion, always with the intention of protecting the well-being of the community.
